Success Stories

Projects where devices and modules were designed for the customer's power conversion conditions, with performance, reliability and supply capability verified together.

SUCCESS STORY 01 · ESS

Engineered around the real operating profile of an ESS PCS

For a utility-grid ESS, DICIO replaced the global tier-one module used in a standard socket with a hybrid module optimised for the PCS switching frequency and load profile.

02 · THE CHALLENGE

We redefined the problem under real operating conditions

The same 1700 V / 1200 A rating does not mean the same module

The required module changes with the way the PCS operates

A grid-scale ESS PCS switches at 4–5 kHz in a three-phase, two-level topology. Even at rated load, the module carries around 60% of its rated current.

Under these operating conditions, reducing turn-off energy (Eoff) and total switching loss matters more to system efficiency than simply minimising VCE(sat).

The existing system used a general-purpose 1700 V / 1200 A Hybrid IGBT + SiC SBD module.

06 · CASE VALUE

Design that starts with the customer system creates measurable performance

Start from operating conditions

We analyse topology, switching frequency and load profile—not voltage and current ratings alone.

Keep the system unchanged

The industry-standard footprint keeps the existing busbar, gate driver and cooling unchanged.

Validate in real equipment

We go beyond simulation and perform a direct 1:1 comparison in the customer's PCS.
